Godskitchen is a UK Nightclub with its main UK Club base at AIR in Birmingham. However they also have a lot of club nights in Ireland and put on various other nights across the Globe, especially in Ibiza every summer.

Godskitchen also have released a whole host of commercial compilation CD's over the years.

Godskitchen Global Gathering is a massive UK Dance event organized by Godskitchen that takes place every year at Long Marston Airfield in Warwick.

Turned away from Paddington Station because the Stafford train is too busy (surely not a regular Saturday lunchtime thing), we make our way to a busy train elsewhere. Confronted with a platform of anxious, chanting ravers at Leamington Spa station we're thinking the journey's going to be a lively one! It is. On arrival we find ourselves in a mile-long queue for the shuttle bus service. We opt for a pub. Being both Global Gathering and Stratford-upon-Avon virgins, we decide we might as well walk to the gig and after leading a hundred or more spikey-haired lads and lolly-pop-girls across corn fields up to our waists, under barbed wire fences and over ditches, we catch site of the top of a tent. At last, five or six Hours of sweaty travelling is almost at an end and we're going to celebrate.

As we get our bearings and manage to navigate our way around the fairground, we discover all the tents are conveniently in the same corner of the site. This is definitely going to make things easier later on! The long, thin Bedrock arena is backed up by the Air arena, with the Strongbow rooms standing like a beacon in the distance. After a look into them all, we decide to start off the night proper in Strongbow’s makeshift bar/club-in-a-field. With decking out at the back, table football, sofas and a compact and friendly crowd, it seems to suit the evening well. And to our great surprise, the Strongbow (never considered in the local) is actually very nice! At £3 a pint, it looks set to be our drink of choice for the night.

The Babooshka arena is one of the more glammed-up tents, with a mixed crowd enjoying a variety of eclectic tunes. During one of our stop offs we hear some driving, deep and damn-right dirty house. Impossible to resist, we step in to sample. It has to be Steve Lawler. Eric Morrillo follows and plays his usual bag, some funky house with a sprinkling of deeper beats thrown in. It’s a shame the guy is such a twat.

We notice a lot of people walking around with deck chairs, lilo’s and various other blow-up accessories but it's a while before we get wind of the beach area. The outdoor stage and the giant inflatables are impressive, but the prospect of Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez and Tim Deluxe means we can't stay here too long. To be stuck here nursing a deck chair all night somehow didn’t seem right! On the journey up, we were looking forward to the Accelerated arena and a bit of drum n bass, although on the night the tent never seems that appealing. The few times we stop by, we're faced with walls of people, yelling MCs, and tunes that are going off the BPM scale. Tonight just isn’t the night for drum n bass.

One of the most exciting prospects of the event is the arrival of Sasha and Digweed to the turntables and, as they are rarely seen on the same set-list these days, there's a lot of expectation. However, the Bedrock arena proves to be the most disappointing one of all, the set up is awful and the sound quality really poor – a terrible echo bounces around one half of the tent which alone ruins what could have been one of the highlights of the evening. I'm sure that most people will say Sasha was amazing, but we left after a couple of disappointing tracks that were going nowhere. People will no doubt claim it was “clever, or subtle”, unfortunately, we expected the Sasha and Digweed of old and this malarky didn’t seem up to scratch. We get itchy feet very quickly.
